Transfer Students

Eligibility and Application

A transfer student is expected to complete successfully at least one year (other than preparatory and support classes) of  undergraduate program in a Turkish institution or an accredited one abroad and that he/she has to have a minimum grade point of average 2,40 out of 4.

Transfer students will be considered based on the following issues.

• Quota availability
• High-grade contribution of the student to the program
• Quality level of the program the transfer student is currently enrolled
• The quality of his/her academic record and achievements

Students seeking transfer to Koç University must submit a completed application form, in addition to the items listed below, before the deadline indicated on the Academic Calendar.

• Completed Application Form with photograph
• TOEFL test scores posted to Koç University code 0163 (minimum score requirements: Paper based TOEFL 550 and TWE score of 4, Computer Based TOEFL (CBT) 213,  Internet Based TOEFL (IBT) 80 and WRT score of 20), IELTS (Academic Module) 6.5 and for each section minimum 5, KPDS / ÜDS miminum score of 87
• High School transcript or evidence of graduation (for high schools abroad, official letter of accreditation issued by  Milli EÄŸitim Bakanlığı Talim ve Terbiye Kurulu BaÅŸkanlığı Teknikokullar, Ankara)
• Two official copy of University transcript mailed directly to Koç University Registrar's Office
• Official copy of the ÖSS score sheet for applicants from the universities within Turkey
• Applicants of students of non-Turkish universities must present one or more of SAT scores (minimum score requirements: Critical Reading  500, Math 600 and Writing 500 (Koç University SAT Score Report Code is 1931), Abitur, ACT (min. score 21), International Bachelor’s degree or French Bachelor’s degree, GCE A level (min. 2 courses) or ÖSS (min. score 185)
• Achievement and/or Advanced Placement test scores (if available)
• University syllabus for the courses completed in previous undergraduate studies
• An official copy of passport for students who apply from universities abroad                                 
• Bank receipt of non-refundable application fee of 150 TL. deposited to Yapı Kredi Bankası, Koç Üniversitesi Åžubesi, Sarıyer - account no. TR63 0006 7010 0000 0000 428868 (No application fee for internal transfers)
• An official accreditation statement from YÖK Yurt Dışı Denklik Bürosu, Bilkent, Ankara will be obtained by the Registrar's Office for students who apply from universities abroad.

In general letters of recommendation are not required however students may be called for interviews.

The deadline for submitting all documents for application is Wednesday, August 1, 2012.

An Institutional TOEFL will be administered on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Koç University. It will be held for the applicants who have not achieved paper based TOEFL score of 550 and TWE score of 4, Internet based TOEFL (IBT) 80 and WRT score of 20 or above.

Koç University students who wish to transfer from one program to another within the University should submit a motivation letter that indicates their reason for application,  extracurricular activities and skills and together with a receipt for application fee.

Tuition Fees 

Academic Year 2011-2012 tuition fee for School of Medicine is TL 42,750.- while the fee for the rest of the programs including ELC (English Language Center) is TL 31,000.- .Tuition fee for School of Nursing  is TL 7,750.-
